Osmose Utilities contractors will begin utility pole inspections in the co-op’s rights-of-way the week of September 17. The project includes inspecting circuits in Manistique, Trout Lake and Kincheloe. They will start in Manistique and complete inspections in all areas in 4-5 weeks. Contractors will carry a co-op authorization letter and their vehicles will have magnetic placards with the Cloverland logo as identification. Approximately 3,000 poles will be inspected this year. Common causes of pole damage include water, wind, trees, wood-peckers, soil erosion, wood decay, or vehicle-traffic contact.
